Hello people!!!!

Happy New Year!

Was busy busy preparing for the event of the Year -- Welcome 2008 Aljunied GRC.

Basically the whole GRC will be lit up with Lanterns to usher in the New Year!

My job remains the same... Help out PR with IT and media stuff.

Being the video man was shiok... Going backstage and mingling with the TCS/ Mediacorp People. Fun.

8000 - 10000 People attended the event. Siong...

Minster and all the other MPs attended the event with performance from 881 and the various Singing Competition Champions.

It has been a really long while since I updated my blog.
Just goes to show how committed I am to this blogging interest, huh.

There are 2 reasons why I am blogging after such a long time.

Well, over the past month, many things happened. For one, I have a new intern which cannot be compared to the green motorist. Dunno if you will read this, but if you do, yes, I am talking about you.

Have 4 interns since I started this job, and seriously, interns quality has dropped.

I need to handhold more... :(

Anyway, enough of work! Its only monday!!!!!

Now back to the more interesting part. ATC will be having a XMAS cum New Year Thanksgiving Party.... Guess what, there will even be appearance from Santa Claus!

By the way, congrats to YS. Losing Life and Getting Wife.

Work in ATC is still the same with the occasional reminders from No.5. For me, it has now become a ritual to report status for the 2 projects that has partnered me since Day 1.

T.T has finally tendered after struggling with the idea for a long while. Damn, she also wanna go down under!

I am waiting for it too! Done my assessment and now waiting for my English to get cleared.

My test is 3 weeks away and I go to Speak, Listen, Read and Write. I think I should be fine except for the writing part. You all know lah, my England so the powderfuul one. lol

Anyway, I still shld scrap through.

Also went to the bridal studio to "aaarr" with the Sales Person, who always say she very good, for a better package.

It might seem like just a ROM but gotta go down to the Studio many many times to try the outfit and stuff. Cause Eve's outfit is made to measure....

Then also got to look for videograoher/ photographer... Haven Find yet

Then also have to book Dinner place after ROM...

Haiz, I think I need a project manager... lol... But I am a Project Manager also... haha..
GET ATC to pay me for this project...

Will update more as time comes.. now its back to preparation!!!!

Melbourne :: City Touring

Took a train from Mitcham to City...
It cost around $10 for unlimited rides on train, trams and buses. Kinda cool as you dun have to worry about taking a wrong bus/ train and wasting money.

Train rides in Melbourne are very long and as we are in Zone 2, the average traveling time is around 1 hour there about.

Very bored so yeah, took lotsa photos.

The doors have a yellow handle and you can actually open it when the train stops. So for those who dunno, do not be like us who stand there waiting for the train door to open. Malu man...

Yeah! This is Spencer Street/ Southern Cross Station. Shopping Time!

After shopping at Spencer Street DFO, we went around the city on the Free Tram - The City Circle Tram, and yeah more photos... Yeah, jumping ones too. Haha.

This is the State Library and you can just find lotsa people/ students studying at the grass patches around the building. The building is nice and yeah, it is hard to get a spot to study in the library. You have to go early.

Took this photo around Yarra River, 1 of the more expensive area in Melbourne City.

Toilet. No, I did not use it. Its beside a traffic light junction. Perhaps for people who need to pee urgently while driving?

Sorry for the delay people!

Trip to Melbourne started on Thursday and I must comment that security in Changi Airport is so freaking tight now! Even a ring that I wear around my neck gotta be disclosed... This sounded off the alarm!

The security personnels are also not the friendliest of people as they really give firm and strict rules to people that they scanned.

Should I feel safe???

Thats the plane that I took. Sat right at the end and its not comfortable at all.. :(

Well, arrived in Melbourne on Friday Morning at around 5am Australia Time (3am SGP Time) and waited in the airport for Eve's mother to arrive at 9am.

Tried to surf in the airport but all networks are either password protected or need to pay. Damm! They only surfing to Yahoo and Hotmail. How nice...

Was damm bored so started playing around with my mac and just bascially bumping around people watching...

2 girls liked me. Eve and Eve...
Hee hee.

Anyway, Catherine & Family came over to pick the whole gang up and we proceeded home.

Eve and I took Cat's car and we must say that she stay pretty far from the airport and she's a heavy footer.

Slept on the way home and so nothing to blog about.

ATC Retreat 2007

I "kapoed" the idea for my proposal video :P

Had my corporate retreat at Batam View Resort during the last month of August.
It is at Nongsa which is 30 mins from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

The objective was to craft out the mission and vision for the Council.
Seems like we have been working blindly for the past many many years.

This is the view from the Seminar Room...
Not bad right...
Will be the first to know of any Tsunami...
And can see Singapore.

Planning for the retreat was crazy/ hectic as the organising committee got to know what the VIPs need and to cater to their special requests.

IQ and I will always do out the planning for the ferry boarding, room allocation and other inventory or logistics planning, and US will change it at the last moment. After the retreat however, I have officially become a worm and US is now my stomach. lol.
I just need to sniff and I will know what he is thinking of.

I also officially confirm that IQ is super blur... She set off the ALARM in ATC once!

Fortunately, the retreat went smoothly.

This was the place that Dinner was supposed to be held...
Guess what the BTM pple said..
"No BBQ at Kelong.. Later kelong catch fire how?"
Duh.. like they dun cook at the kelong like that.

Lessons that I learnt from the retreat:
Dun expect the BTM pple to work fast. They are already 1 hour behind us.

Well, I have shared with her how I am going to propose to Eve many many many months ago. That's even before I started doing the video for Eve. The unfortunate thing is that her boyfriend did exactly the same thing as me.

Before you start saying that her boyfriend and I conspired on the proposal, I must admit that the idea to propose was not a new idea. I also "kapoed" the idea from my friend. My friend, however, succeeded with a powerpoint slideshow.

I think I better lah, at least got cinema standard video complete with surround sound system. thanks to Doo Doo...

Lucky JOdie never share my idea with Eve...
A powerpoint slideshow is needed at least. Do something that you wont normally do. Like wearing a super bright tee-shirt or kneeling down in public.
Imagine shaving "will you marry me on your head" or tattooing it around your groin area and asking your girlfriend to peep.. Cool. She will most likely say yes if you have a big asset, erm, I mean nice tattoo.

For girls:
Even if you know the next move, act blur leh... It takes a lot of effort and courage to pop the special questions. Its only 4 words, but it is really not easy to do it.

Watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry at Vivo after dinner.
It was a funny show and the plot and storyline is simple.

Recommended for all.

In case that is not enough, Jessica Biel stripping in this show is another plus point!

Well, today is the day that I am going to propose to my partner.
We started partall-ing on 6 March 1999 when we went for a movie at Riverside Point. For those who are not aware, there used to be a cinema there.

8.5 years have passsed and many things have happened and we have changed tremendously during this time. People used to dun think that we will be together and we are out to prove them wrong. Nothing gonna stop us now.

As I was doing this video, I was actually flipping through the old old photos that I have. This photos were not even on a digital camera and I have to secretly go and scan them.

And I realise one thing: I have definitely grown more "handsome".
NorthEast Line has now officially been made a landmark on my face and I believe the Circle Line is going to stretch across my forehead pretty soon.

As for Eve, she has become slimmer. She used to weigh a whopping ??? kg.. I dun even know, she still doesn't want to tell me. All I can say is that I can lift her up now!

This is a present that I bought. Eve thought that the "hard hard thing" that she felt was the box for the diamond ring..

Omg... She really think too much right.

Dinner was at in a cable car cabin and it was very jittery.
I think that as I grow older, I seem to become more afraid of heights.
Anyway, think the jittery works and the proposal went ahead smoothly.

The Food was ok. And I strongly recommend this place to all who want to do something special for their significant other half.
